We need to go deeper about consecration and sanctification. These spiritual truths are powerful and we need dig a little more in them.
Here’s another scripture about consecration
“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.” (1 Peter 2:9–10, NKJV)
God, out of His mercy for us, chose us to be His.
This is such a powerful revelation of consecration. God has a will. He has a choice…and He chose us to be a chosen generation!
We were born for such a time as this.
We were born on this side of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. He conquered the enemy and opened the door to eternal life for us to choose Him.
There were those that lived before Jesus rose from the dead, like Abraham, that chose to believe God by faith and it was accounted to them as righteousness. But we are able to see the fruit of the resurrection and choose to follow Jesus.
He chose us and we are able to choose Him.
The word declares that He has made us Kings and Priests before Him.
Because we are new covenant believers there is no need for us to go to a priest to get to God. The Holy of Holies is opened for us to enter in anytime. We are cleansed by the blood of the spotless Lamb and have access to Our High Priest.
He has chosen us to be engrafted into His Holy people.
God made a covenant with Abraham and the sign of the covenant was circumcision. The New Testament calls us children of Abraham and we are circumcised of the heart.
He chose us to make an everlasting covenant with us. He has made us holy by making us His own.
He made us this chosen generation, royal priesthood and holy nation so that we would proclaim His praises.
This is our purpose, to proclaim His praises
What does that mean, exactly? To declare with our mouth to everyone that will listen how wonderful our God is. How awesome that He is and how faithful that He is - to call us out of darkness into His marvelous light.
We couldn’t take ourselves out of darkness, He had to call us out.
When did He calls us out? When He chose us, when He consecrated us, When He separated us from the darkness….when Jesus rose from the dead and conquered death, hell and the grave.
We were on our way to death, hell and eternal darkness, but our Father God called our name and chose us to become the people of God. He gave us a choice to choose Jesus and become His family.
Our purpose now is that we proclaim all that He is to all that we have an opportunity to.
Our purpose before we were consecrated by God was to live a life of selfishness and hopelessness. To die in darkness with no hope.
But now our will becomes refocused on Him we are living everyday to declare to Him - not my will and purpose be done, but Your will and purpose be done in my life!
