Jesus was given authority on earth by the Father. When Jesus rose from the dead and sent the Holy Spirit to the church, He gave us the authority to speak His words with the same authority. Because we believe in Him we will do the works that He did by using the same authority and the words that He gives us to speak! We work the work with our words.
