When did Quitting become Popular?

Don’t you know? Haven’t you been listening? Yahweh is the one and only everlasting God, the Creator of all you can see and imagine! He never gets weary or worn out. His intelligence is unlimited; he is never puzzled over what to do! He empowers the feeble and infuses the powerless with increasing strength. Even young people faint and get exhausted; athletic ones may stumble and fall. But those who wait for Yahweh’s grace will experience divine strength. They will rise up on soaring wings and fly like eagles, run their race without growing weary, and walk through life without giving up. - (Isa. 40:28-31 TPT)

This prophecy through Isaiah speaks about people that have become weak, powerless, exhausted. People who because of a lack of strength grow weary, fall down and give up. And we see it more today than ever before.

With the challenges that we face in the world; the pandemic, the tyrannical government, the impending financial collapse, the social unrest and the fear behind it all, people are quitting and giving up. Under the weight of stress and pressure people are choosing to lay down, roll over and just die.

Former Pastors are choosing to "deconstruct" their faith and become unbelievers because they think that it is faddish and it gets them attention on social media. Is this the apostasy and falling away that the Bible talks about? When people who have served God all of their lives begin to renounce Christ and turn their back on Him? It is time to dig deeper and ask the tough questions like:

What are people who call themselves a believer and a Christ follower really believing?

  • Has today's church in America really been discipling people to follow Christ and obey His teachings?

  • Is this what Jesus said when He predicted that people's lives would be "blown down" in the storm because they only heard His sayings and chose not to do them?

  • How can we who love and believe in God live our lives for God in a faithless generation?

Looking again at the above passage of scripture you can identify why some have given up and quit. They have not been waiting on the Lord so that He can renew their strength.

Waiting on the Lord is not just a nice scripture that you can put in a picture frame and hang on your wall to look at, it is a powerful principle that we practice daily that will sustain us through the times that we want to give up and quit.

If you are reading this today and are thinking, "it might be better if I just quit now and give up on God and give up on life" please reconsider. Please allow the Holy Spirit of God to shake you from the inside and take a moment to recommit to Him. The stress and the pressure is real but the power of the Holy Spirit is greater. He can and will pull you out of any pit that you have found yourself in...if you just reach up by faith and trust Him again.

Say this: I was not created to quit and give up. I need the strength that only comes from God. I choose to recommit right now and trust God again with my whole heart.

Pray this: Lord, I refuse to lose and quit. You made me a winner and a fighter. You have strengthened me time and time again in the past. You are faithful. I trust You today and reach up to You today. Refill me as I recommit to You and Your will for my life. I receive the power of the Holy Spirit b faith right now. In Jesus Name!
