Expecting Peace through Prayer

In prayer, we can expect Jesus to give us His peace.

We need to walk in more peace in 2024!

John 14:27 (AMP): Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]

To bequeath something means to leave or give (personal property) by will. To pass (something) on to another; handing it down. Jesus is handing down His peace to us. It belongs to us.
The very same peace that Jesus walked in while He was here on earth is given to us by Him.

He gives it to us and we have to take it. This is an exchange.  Since we have His peace He then commands us, “Do not let your hearts be troubled.” It is our responsibility to reject trouble that comes against our heart, our soul.

When the trouble comes, we reject it. Peace belongs to us, trouble and worry does not.

The Amplified Bible says, “Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed, and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled." That's a strong command. Jesus means what He says. He says, “Here's my peace. Take my piece, and reject anything that tries to come against my peace.”

Philippians 4:6–7 (NLT): Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

We are expecting peace because peace comes through prayer. Communion with God produces peace.

Anytime we pray the word of God, there is a supernatural peace that comes to us. It doesn’t matter if we pray for 10 min, or if we pray for an hour, we will experience His peace. We need his peace to stand against the attacks of the enemy.

Every time that we sense any kind of worry or anxiety coming at us (whether it's thoughts or feelings), we need to stop and pray. Begin your prayer by thanking Him for all he's done for you. Make it specific and start with the obvious. “Thank you Lord for creating me, for giving me the breath in my lungs, for giving me eyes to see and a voice to praise You and thank You.” Immediately His peace begins to rise up within us and strength comes from the Holy Spirit within us.

Peace is the result of prayer. Expect it!

Are you dealing with fear or anxiety? Is it constantly agitating you and will not go away? It is time to pray! Stop right now and give it to the Lord. Take His peace and receive His strength...right now!

Practice His peace everyday this year by putting prayer first. Pray and spend time in the word of God at the beginning of each day to be prepared to resist all worry and fear. Don’t give place to the enemy. Walk in more peace in 2024.

Pastor Bruce what a strong message. I pray myself ever morning. It gives me the pleasure of being with the lord first thing in the morning.
