Outta My Head Or Heart?

To identify your heart (your spirit) just say something that you know you don't believe, like "I am the Governor of the State of Georgia."

When you say that statement you know that it is not the truth (unless you are Brian Kemp) and you know that you are just repeating something that you told your mind to say. You know that you don't believe it but you said it anyway. It came from your intellect (mind). It was not true and did not come from your heart.

Our heart is place where faith grows and the place from which faith speaks. It is important to identify your heart and only speak those things that you believe.

When you speak things that you don't believe you begin to compromise your own integrity. You are not true to yourself and you are opening yourself up to believing a lie and living a lie.

What you believe in your heart will determine what you believe about yourself and how you live the rest of your life.

And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, "I believed and therefore I spoke," we also believe and therefore speak, - 2 Corinthians 4:13 NKJV

There is a big difference between connecting your mouth to your intellect and connecting it to your heart. This is why Paul made this statement to the Christians in Corinth.

1 Corinthians 14:14  (NLT) For if I pray in tongues, my spirit is praying, but I don’t understand what I am saying.

We have the choice to believe with our heart and speak from our heart. We are not a mind that is controlled by the facts and circumstances around us. We are a spirit that should be led by God and controlled by His Spirit. God gave us a mind to use but He doesn't want us to be controlled by it.

Say this:
I am a spirit being that has a mind. I choose to believe with my heart. I choose to speak from my heart. I refused to be controlled by my mind. I believe with all my heart all that God says.

Pray this:
Lord, I treasure your word more than anything else on this earth. I will feed my heart Your word today and grow in faith. Thank you for leading me by Your spirit by speaking to my heart. My spiritual ears are tuned to you and I connect my mouth to my heart, in Jesus Name!
