Day 16 - Expect The Rain

We have five more days in our 21 days of fasting in prayer. How's your fast going? Has the Lord changed your fast and maybe added something else to it during the 21 days? How has your body responded? Here's the big question is your body controlling you? Are you controlling your body. I know that's a big question but it's one worth answering.

We have to control our body and our soul if we're gonna make the right decisions this year. The Lord wants us to grow and he has given us a strong spirit and strong faith to take hold of our lives so that we can be fruitful this year. So that we can grow and be everything that God wants us to be.

We are learning this week that expecting the best is a byproduct of living by faith. Those who live by faith expect the best. The more our faith grows the more we expect God to do great things in us for us and through us.

A lot of people that live by faith and expect the best were not always positive people. If you've been negative, and you want to become positive, there is some extreme discipline that has to happen in your thought life.

Number one you have to fill yourself with the word. Number two you have to take hold of your mind and think about what you're thinking about. When a negative thought comes, you have to reject it and replace it with the word of God.

Today scripture comes out of the book of first Kings chapter 18. There was a 3 year drought in the land. They needed rain because of the famine. The prophet Elijah prayed and expected it to rain.

He told his servant to go up and look to see if the rain was coming. The first time his servant came back and said there is nothing. Elijah told him to go look again. The servant came back and still the answer was nothing. He Elijah told him to go back and look again. This happened seven times. And on the seventh time, the servant said there is a cloud as small as a man's hand rising out of the sea. Then Elijah gave his servant, the command to go tell Ahab to prepare the chariot and go down before the rain stops you. The sky became black with clouds and wind, and there was a heavy rain.

I'm reading first kings chapter 18 verses 42 and 43, "so Ahab went off to eat and drink, but Elijah climbed to the top of caramel, bent down to the ground and put his face between his knees, go and look toward the sea he told his servant

Elijah expected the best! Elijah expected that what he prayed would come to pass. And he was unwilling to give up. He was unwilling to give up because he was a man of faith who believed in a God of faith.

Just like Elijah, who prayed in faith and never gave up, God expects us to be as faithful to him as he is to us. We are to pray in faith, stand in faith and win the victory in faith. We never quit we never give up we never turn around. And losing is not an option. Failure is not an option. This is our year to thrive and we expect the best!

Be blessed in the name of Jesus today and set your expectations high because our God can and will do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think!
