Being Overcome or Overcoming..which is it?

“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” (1 John 5:4–5, NKJV)

While many in the world are being overcome with fear and anxiety concerning the current events in the world, we can decide to overcome the world and the spirit of this world!

God did not create us to conform to the world's ways and live under the world's fear and panic. (Romans 12:1-2) We have been set free from fear and worry so we should decide to live like it.

The way to walk free of the fear and overcome the world is to make a daily decision to walk by faith and not by what we see and hear. We have a choice. We have to make the daily choice to walk by faith. If we don't make this decision to walk in overcoming faith, we will default to bowing down to the fear and worry that rules the world.

We have to also decide to tune out the negativity of the news of this world and tune into the word of God.

Have you noticed that after about 30 minutes of watching the mainstream media news you want to runaway to an isolated island somewhere so nobody can find you? It does not build your faith. It destroys what faith you do have and builds fear that will paralyze you. The danger is that the propaganda of the news media is designed to hook you into the "BREAKING NEWS" updates so that you think that you are doing something good by watching and becoming absorbed. The reports are so conflicting and confusing that it truly doesn't make sense. And rehearsing the current events in the news will wear you out spirit, soul and body.

Bottomline: Spend more time in God's word than staying "tuned into" the news.

Your world overcoming faith will be strengthened and fortified when you decide to take hold of God and tune out the world!

Say this:
I decide today to walk in faith and not be moved or swayed by  what I see or hear. I am an overcomer because the greatest overcomer lives in me. I choose to tune out the negative news of the world and take hold of God's word.

Pray this:
Lord, I thank you for this day that you made and the faith that you gave me to overcome the stress, pressure and negativity of this world's system. Strengthen me with the power of Your Holy Spirit and remind me of the words that I have hidden in my heart. Use me to show everyone that sees me that the faith I have in You helps me walk in victory. In Jesus Name
