I’m going to refer again to the 3 points from the message from Sunday - Resetting Yourself involves - 1 - Dumping The Past - 2 - Prepare For The New - 3 - Expecting The Best
Today’s scripture is:
Isaiah 43:18-19 NJKV “Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.”
Today’s word is DUMP
As in DUMP the past. Pack it all up and throw it away. Get rid of it, unload it, throw it out of your life once and for all!
Here’s a word for you today - It is time to get rid of those things that have been holding you back!
Anything that would hold you back is a weight or a sin. (I will go into the difference between the weights and sins tomorrow)
To launch out into 2025 we’ve got to leave all that was in 2024!
Dumping the past doesn’t happen automatically or just because you turn the page on the calendar. You must make a decision from the heart. "I WILL LEAVE THE PAST BEHIND"
Forgiveness is huge when it comes to forgetting those things that are in the past. Forgiving others and forgiving yourself.
One of the big keys in forgiveness is knowing that God has forgiven us.
Study these scriptures -
Micah says that God "casts our sin into the depths of the sea" (sea of forgetfulness)
So here’s a powerful statement - since God chooses to forget your sin, you have no right to remember them.
He forgives and forgets, and you should too!
The past is dead and has no power over you when you repent to God and receive His forgiveness by faith.
1 John 1:9 says that "He cleanses us" and that cleansing includes our mind and memory.
Remember, there is a challenge in forgiveness just like anytime we act on God’s word.
When we confess our sin to God and receive His forgiveness by faith, the enemy comes to challenge us by bringing those thoughts and memories back to us. That’s when we must use God’s word.
Also, when we forgive others by faith and we give the hurt and disappointment to God, we can count on the enemy to come and challenge us with the thoughts and memory of the past.
When he comes we have to resist those thoughts and remind the enemy that we have forgiven and God has forgiven and the past is under the blood of Jesus.
So exercise the word today, dump the past by going to the Lord and repenting of any sin that you have not already confessed to Him and forgiving others in your past.
Receive your forgiveness by faith and walk free from the past at last.
Have an awesome day today and know that since God is for you, you are victorious!
