When your soul becomes weary enough you eventually want to give up.
Galatians 6:9 (NKJV)
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
One of the greatest challenges during the period called "due season" is within our own soul. The part of us that we call our soul is comprised of: 1) our mind, 2) our will, and 3) our emotions.
Remember that we discovered that if we want to see the promises of God birthed in our lives we have to protect the seed of His promises in our hearts.
Mary met her cousin Elizabeth in Luke 1:39-44. She was encouraged as the words of God through the angel Gabriel were confirmed by Elizabeth. The next thing that she did was to magnify the Lord from her soul!
She said, "My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior." She then keeps speaking about the goodness and faithfulness of God. She is recalling just how great God is. This revelation is flowing from her spirit into her soul and she is speaking it out of her mouth.
Meditating on just how big and how good God is the first step in magnifying Him. Considering all that He has created and thinking about His awesome creative power leads to speaking about it.
Declaring His goodness strengthens your trust and faith in Him. Believing in your heart and confessing with your mouth is the way that we release faith. It is the way into the Kingdom of God and it is the way that the Kingdom of God operates.
Faith comes by hearing the Word of God and faith is released by speaking the Word of God. We receive it first and declare it secondly.
When we speak the Word it fortifies our soul on the foundation of our faith. A strong soul is able to resist thoughts of fear and doubt while patiently waiting for the promise.
Begin to magnify God for all that He is and all that He has done and your soul will receive strength to stand. It is impossible to give up and magnify God at the same time!
Confession:
"I take control over my soul. My spirit rejoices in God my Savior. I will continually magnify God with my mind, will and emotions. I receive strength to stand as a declare His goodness to me. His faithfulness and mercy toward me is my shield against doubt. Because of His great love, fear has no part in me. I am strong in the Lord and in the power of His might!"
