“...that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:9–10, NKJV)
“So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” (Mark 11:22–24, NKJV)
Believing happens in the heart. It is not a mental exercise or a scientific theorem.
It is our mind that wants proof before we believe. We want to see and then we will believe it. But God asks us to believe Him before we have proof or actually see His promise fulfilled.
Faith is the evidence of things hoped for and the evidence of things that are not yet seen.
God said "let there be light" when it was still dark. He works by faith and speaks by faith. And he created man to live by faith as He does.
It is natural that people want proof. Thomas, the disciple, wanted proof. He actually said, "I won't believe unless I see and touch". No faith required.
Believing God means to trust Him more than we trust our natural senses. It means that our hearts say YES!...even at times when our mind is saying NO...
When we believe God we take His word as our final authority and regardless of what the circumstances say, we decide to hold onto His promise.
His word says that we are saved, if we believe in our heart and confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and that God raised Him from the dead, regardless of what we see or feel. You don't have to feel saved before you believe that Jesus is Lord and that God raised Him from the dead.
Whatever you see in God's word decide to believe, before requiring proof. Don't be a doubter, only believe.
Say this:
I am a believer and I choose not to doubt. I choose to believe God's word above all else. God's word is faithful and true. I hold on to His word. I believe with my heart all that He has said.
Pray this:
Lord, You made me to walk by faith and not by sight. I thank you for giving me faith and today I will exercise my faith by believing you above all else. Your word is true regardless of anything else in this world. I take You at Your word and I believe all that You have promised me. I take Your peace today and walk in Your perfect peace. I am not moved by what I see or hear. I walk in Your peace and live in Your peace. In Jesus Name!
