Expecting Strength Through Prayer

Strength comes when we pray. We should expect to be strengthened as when pray.

“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40:28–31, NKJV)

Waiting on the Lord renews our strength. Waiting on the Lord is not passive. It is never a waste of time to sit in His presence.

Waiting requires our faith and trust. It goes against our flesh and “the clock” that we are controlled by (most of the time).

We live so aware of time it is difficult to jump off that Merry-go-round and sit at the feet of Jesus.

But waiting in His presence allows Him to refill us with His strength.

“Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!” (Psalm 27:14, NKJV)

“Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the Lord.” (Psalm 27:14, AMP)

Expect to be strengthened by the supernatural power of God today.

“Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper— it only leads to harm. For the wicked will be destroyed, but those who trust in the LORD will possess the land.” (Psalm 37:7–9, NLT)

Waiting on the Lord is the place in prayer where we dump all of those feelings and the works of the flesh so we are not consumed by them. It is the time to give everything to the Lord.

“Seek the Lord and His strength; yearn for and seek His face and to be in His presence continually!” (1 Chronicles 16:11, AMP)

By drawing near to God we come in contact with His power. He infuses us with all that He has and all that He is as we depend on Him and spend time with Him.

Let’s make the following confessions today:

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13, NKJV)

“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’” (Isaiah 41:10, NKJV)

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” (Ephesians 6:10–11, NKJV)

By putting on the armor of God we receive strength and are then able to stand against all attacks of the enemy.

Expect to be strengthened by God, more and more in 2024!
