We are preparing for everything that God has for us in this new year of 2025. We believe that God wants more for us in 2025 because he always causes us to grow an increase and experience fruitfulness.
Today we're going jump right back into the account of the widow in second Kings chapter 4. She had to make room for more.
We covered two points yesterday. She had to recognize her need for more. She needed money to pay off her debts and she was desperate. She was about to lose her two sons into slavery if she didn’t get enough to pay off her dead husband’s debts. She made an appeal to the prophet Elisha. Elisha asked her what she had in her house. What a strange question. She had a small jar of oil, so that was her answer. She had to be thinking “what good will this do?”
But she had to start with what she had. What do you have going into this year? We have to see what we have and use what we have.
The third point here is that she has to make room for a miracle. Here’s verses 3 and 4. Then Elisha said, "Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors--empty vessels; do not gather just a few. And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.”
She had to step out in faith and obedience to gather jars (go get the pots) so that she could create the space for God’s miraculous provision. This is huge! She had to change her mindset from not enough to more than enough.
Elisha’s instructions to her expanded her thinking and her faith at the same time.
God wants us to expand our view of Him as our provider this coming year. He wants to do a miracle of provision in our lives so that people that are watching us see just how big our God is!
We have to be willing to say to the Lord, “yes Lord I will do exactly what you want me to do!” Obedience is the key to blessing and breakthrough. We need to create space in our lives this year for something uncommon that the Lord wants to do.
Maybe it is the year to start something that the Lord has been telling you to do for a long time now. Make room for the miracle!
Spend some time today asking the Lord to expand your revelation of how big He is. Truly He is limited in our lives to the degree of the size of our revelation of Him. If we consider Him our barely get along provider then He can only help us to barely get along. But when we see He as Almighty God, the Creator of the Heavens and the Earth and nothing is impossible with Him we can trust that He will exceed all of our needs.
God wants to show us how big He is in our lives this year!
Are you ready to see?
Tomorrow, I will bring out another point here in 2 Kings 4. Get ready! We believe that 2025 is our year to break forth and to be fruitful and to experience all of God's best this year and we're praying for you..
