Psalm 46:10 (AMP)
Let be and be still, and know (recognize and understand) that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations! I will be exalted in the earth!
Being still to listen for the voice of the Lord is a huge challenge in the "speed-of-light", noisy world that we live in. Yet it is necessary to shut off the distractions in order to shut in with the Lord.
Our flesh gets antsy when we have to wait for any length of time. So the struggle begins when we set our heart to wait on the Lord. Our mind races with things that we must do while it is still "today". Our stomach begins to rumble even though we may not be hungry. The fight is on.
The place of prayer is where we lose our will to choose His will. Learn to surrender quick.
The Hebrew words used in this verse have the meaning "Stop, let it go, learn that He is God. (or see that He is God).
Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace.
Challenge:
Invest 15 minutes being still in His presence.
Say this:
I am a spirit and have control over my soul and body. I choose to be still before the Lord. I surrender all. I belong to Him and I hear His voice. I let everything go and stop everything that I am doing to wait on Him.
Pray this:
Heavenly Father, I wait on You. You are my reason for living and I find my life in You. I quiet myself before You to hear Your voice clearly. I set myself apart for Your purpose today, in Jesus Name.
