Your Prayer Language - Day 7

This is day 7 of 21 days of the power of prayer…today’s title is Your Prayer Language…during these 21 days we are connecting the power of the Holy Spirit to prayer. Jesus wants His Church to be bold and pray with power. He wants His body to be the change agent on this earth.

When the church gets full of the Spirit of God, we get bold and we begin to pray the answer instead of the problem. We become part of the solution and become focused on the mission before us. When we are filled with the Spirit of God nothing can throw us off track and we begin to reap the harvest like never before.

So, we have been really focusing on the person of the Holy Spirit and specifically His role in prayer as it relates to the church.

We know that in order to walk in the power of the Spirit of God we need a constant refilling of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We need to constantly hunger and thirst for righteousness and pursue HIs presence.

God’s word is so clear that it is the power and fulness of the Holy Spirit that makes the difference in the Church. And that when we pray we should expect that the Holy Spirit pray through us.

The evidence of being baptized with the Holy Spirit is speaking or praying in a heavenly language that you do not understand. It bypasses your mind and connects your heart with God’s heart.

“For one who speaks in an [unknown] tongue speaks not to men but to God, for no one understands or catches his meaning, because in the [Holy] Spirit he utters secret truths and hidden things [not obvious to the understanding].” (1 Corinthians 14:2, AMP)

It is a language that God understands and when you speak in that language your mind may be unproductive but your spirit is being productive because you are speaking to God.

This is part of the hangup that people have with a supernatural heavenly language that is used in prayer and communication with our Heavenly Father. To the natural man it sounds like gibberish. It makes no sense at all…BUT it is not supposed to make sense to us or anyone else.

I remember the first time that I ever spoke in an unknown tongue…I heard a voice of doubt saying to me…”oh you are just speaking in Chinese”…and immediately my heart answered…fine even if it is Chinese…because Chinese is a language that is unknown to me. HAHA

The devil hates it when Christians receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit because there is a release of spiritual power in their lives and a connection to God.

The spirit baptized believer is dangerous to the devil’s kingdom because the Holy Spirit can pray through us.

“And in a similar way, the Holy Spirit takes hold of us in our human frailty to empower us in our weakness. For example, at times we don’t even know how to pray, or know the best things to ask for. But the Holy Spirit rises up within us to super-intercede on our behalf, pleading to God with emotional sighs too deep for words.” (Romans 8:26, TPT)

As we pray in our heavenly language the Holy Spirit is making intercession for us and others according to the will of God. We go from have a disadvantage to having an advantage over the enemy.

We go from a place of defeat and failure to a place of faith and victory. Just by allowing the Holy Spirit to use our voice in prayer.

Don’t hesitate to pray using your prayer language. God gave it to you when you hit a wall in prayer and you don’t know what to pray for or how to pray in the right way. It is in that moment that you have the advantage.
