Weak Prayer - No Results - Day 8

This is day 8 of 21 days of DUNAMIS the power of prayer…today’s title is Weak Prayer, No Results…during these 21 days we are connecting the power of the Holy Spirit to prayer. Jesus wants His Church to be bold and pray with power. He wants His body to be the change agent on this earth.

So we have all dealt with the questions regarding prayer, “why is it taking so long?” “Why dies it seem like prayers don’t get above my head?” “I thought I heard from the Lord and now it seems that all hell is breaking loose”

The weak prayer is a hope-so prayer.

It is the one that is based on our feelings and desperation. When we have given up all hope and we are lifting up one last prayer to God out of desperation, appealing to His mercy because we don’t have anything left…we are in a sad place.

The weak prayer is one that thinks that just because God is good He is required to answer.

But take a good look at 1 John 5:14-15 “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.”

There is nothing wishy washy or maybe so hope so about this verse. There is a requirement…to know God’s word…and to pray God’s word.

Praying according to God’s word is an advancement against the enemy in the spirit.

Even though we may not see an overnight change in the outward circumstances we can be assured that the process has begun and we must stand in faith.

When we stand in our authority and pray according to God’s word, His power is released and He will bring it to pass.

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.” (2 Corinthians 10:3–6, NKJV)

He has given us His word as an offensive weapon and we must hold it up in prayer against the forces of the enemy.

He has never made a defective weapon yet. There have never been any recalls on the armament of heaven. And He trusts us to use His weapons to win every battle.

When training for the military they spend great time and care to go over the weapons that are at your disposal. Much detail and effort is invested on becoming familiar with each piece of equipment and each weapon.

The difference between a weak prayer and a prayer that produces results is the Word of God and fervency.

Fervency was a part of Acts 12:5 “So Peter was kept in prison, but fervent prayer for him was persistently made to God by the church (assembly).”

The Church prayed persistently and fervently. They grabbed hold of the promise of God pushed back the injustice until heaven’s army showed up and broke Peter out of the jail.

If you have prayed the word of God and you are holding on to the promise of God, hang on! Don’t give up and don’t throw in the towel. God is still watching over His word in order to bring it to pass.
