When We Know Not What To Pray - Day 10

This is day 10 of 21 days of DUNAMIS the power of prayer…today’s title is When we know not what to pray…during these 21 days we are connecting the power of the Holy Spirit to prayer. Jesus wants His Church to be bold and pray with power. He wants His body to be the change agent on this earth.

“And in a similar way, the Holy Spirit takes hold of us in our human frailty to empower us in our weakness. For example, at times we don’t even know how to pray, or know the best things to ask for. But the Holy Spirit rises up within us to super-intercede on our behalf, pleading to God with emotional sighs too deep for words.” (Romans 8:26, TPT)

Our disadvantage or weakness is that there are many times that we don’t know what to pray for or how to pray.

We may sense a nudge from the Lord to pray. But we don’t know what He wants us to pray about…this is the time that we need to consult or turn to the Holy Spirit. He knows what we need to pray for or who we need to pray for.

We have limited knowledge but the Holy Spirit has unlimited knowledge. Sometimes He is just wanting us to pray in the Spirit so that he can move in a situation. We don’t need know any more than pray right now in the spirit.

There are times in prayer when we pray all that we know about a situation in our known language and we “hit the wall’. We run out of things to say in our prayer. We have exhausted our vocabulary and we are at our limit.

He brings the words when we run out of them.

When we are at our limit is the time where we yield to the power of the Holy Spirit in us. This is when our disadvantage becomes our advantage.

The advantage that we have in prayer is when we allow the Holy Spirit to rise up within us. We call on the greater one that lives in us. He knows what to pray for because He is connected to the will of God. Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. We take a step up and we graduate in the power and purpose of the Holy Spirit. He takes our inability and changes it to His ability in us.

“For we did not receive the spirit of this world system but the Spirit of God, so that we might come to understand and experience all that grace has lavished upon us. And we articulate these realities with the words imparted to us by the Spirit and not with the words taught by human wisdom. We join together Spirit-revealed truths with Spirit-revealed words.”
(1 Corinthians 2:12–13, TPT)

Part of the grace that God has given to us is the grace to pray in the spirit. The words that we need at the moment that we need them come from the Holy Spirit whether they are in the English language or an unknown language. It is a heavenly download given at the right moment that helps to move forward the will and purpose of God.

The Holy Spirit reveals spiritual truth with spirit revealed words.

Pray right now and expect the power of the Holy Spirit to flood you and give you words to speak. He will.
