He Reminds Us of Jesus Words - Day 11

This is day 11 of 21 days of DUNAMIS the power of prayer…today’s title is He reminds us of Jesus’ words…during these 21 days we are connecting the power of the Holy Spirit to prayer. Jesus wants His Church to be bold and pray with power. He is expecting us to do something with all that He has given us.

“But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.” (John 14:26, AMP)

The Holy Spirit is our helper in prayer that Jesus sent to us. I like this verse because shows us a clear picture of the role of the Holy Spirit in prayer.

We saw from yesterday’s devotional that the Holy Spirit gives us the words to pray when we don’t quite know what to say.

And from today’s verse we understand that the Holy Spirit is our stand-by…He is standing by to help us with the words that Jesus has spoken to us. And when we pray the words of Jesus we get results.

Since we know that when we pray the word we get results, part of the Holy Spirit’s role is to remind us of the word…as He wants to see the will and the word of God fulfilled.

The power in prayer comes from the word of God! And the Holy Spirit reminds us of the word. Look at 1 John 5:14-15 from the Amplified Bible

“And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us. And if (since) we [positively] know that He listens to us in whatever we ask, we also know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted us as our present possessions] the requests made of Him.”

The word of God that we have put in our hearts is ready and available at all times for the Holy Spirit to bring to our remembrance so that as we are praying we are praying God’s word in every situation. Not our thoughts or opinions or our will. Gods’ word is His will and His word brings His power and powerful prayer gets results.

God is listening to ours prayers to see if they are filled with His word. He is watching and listening for faith and when He finds faith He responds with His provision, protection and power.

There is nothing more powerful and effectual than a prayer led by the Holy Spirit and in alignment with God’s word.

The "dunamis" power of God operates in the believer and the church that prays God’s word inspired by God’s spirit.

Stick with His word and be led by His Spirit.
