But We Have The Mind of Christ

For who has known or understood the mind (the counsels and purposes) of the Lord so as to guide and instruct Him and give Him knowledge? But we have the mind of Christ (the Messiah) and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart. - 1 Cor. 2:16 AMPC

We say all kinds of things about our mind.
I'm losing my mind.
That blew my mind.
I'm getting old-timers disease.
If my head wasn't on my shoulders I would lose it.
I just want to give them a piece of my mind.
And so on and so forth...

BUT what does God say about our mind?...we have the mind of Christ!
(Sidenote: we need to change what we say about ourselves so it lines up with what God has said!)

When we gave our lives to Christ and accepted Him as our Lord and Savior there was a huge change in the area of our mind. We gained access to the mind of Christ, which means that we can actually think like Him. This is what the majority of what chapter 2 of 1st Corinthians is about.

We don't have to think like the world because Christ lives in us by the power and person of the Holy Spirit. There was a change when we began walking in the spirit instead of the flesh. The Amplified Bible goes on further to say that "we hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart".

Jesus wants us to think like He does. That is the reason that He has given us access to His mind. We have the mind of Christ in order to know exactly what He is thinking.

Of course we have the choice to use it and think His thoughts or not use it and continue to think like the rest of the world thinks. The choice is ours, God will not force us to think like Him.

Bottomline, when we think like Him we can talk like Him and act like Him. When we act like Him we will accomplish His will for our lives. (It is so simple when you write it out. The challenge comes in the action.)

It begins in the mind. What you believe begins in the mind. What you say begins in the mind. What you choose to do also begins in the mind. Your mind is more important than you realize.

So here's what we need to do today and everyday from now on. As we are going about our day, just begin to say "I have the mind of Christ and I hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart." Purposefully say this out loud many times today and by doing so you are actually practicing putting on the mind of Christ. It is a conscious effort that will make the difference. Expect a transformation in the way that you think.

Say this: I have the mind of Christ. I hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of the heart of Jesus. His thoughts are higher than my thoughts and I choose to think His thoughts.

Pray this: Heavenly Father, I am thankful that You have given me the mind of Christ so that I am not limited to my own earthly, limited thoughts. I was designed to think like You. I give You permission to transform my thinking by the power of the Holy Spirit today. Forgive me for speaking negative in the past about my mind. I repent and change the words coming out of my mouth. Remind me to say what You say about me. In Jesus Name"
