Jesus Taught Persistence

John 15:7 (AMP)
If you live in Me [abide vitally united to Me] and My words remain in you and continue to live in your hearts, ask whatever you will, and it shall be done for you.

John 8:31–32 (HCSB)
So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, you really are My disciples. You will know the truth,  and the truth will set you free.”

Following Jesus is great but it is continuing to follow Jesus that produces results.

We are to be persistent as we contend for the victory. Victory doesn't just come automatically because we are Christians.

Persistence is the difference between going all the way to the finish line and breaking down halfway there. You won't ever hear Jesus say, "well done, you good and halfway faithful servant." He empowers us to be great finishers.

Now is the time to put our hand to the plow and not look back; to go forth and continue to conquer. Total victory is just ahead.

We don't get half credit for being half obedient. Because God is always faithful He is only glorified when we are faithful children.

Being persistent requires staying full of the power of God and yielding daily to His power. Allowing God to show you the big picture will re-energize you with all that it takes to keep going. You can do it, don't quit!

Pray this:
"Heavenly Father, I receive right now your power and ability to persist and persevere. I press on to all that You are calling me to. I release your power in my life to refresh and renew my vision. I will continue in the Word because I am a disciple of Jesus. He has made me free and I walk in that freedom today. I will patiently persist and purposefully persevere in and through Christ."
