What you focus on you will follow.
Hebrews 12:1–2 (NKJV)
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Running the race of faith and finishing requires that we focus on the joy that is set before us and not on all the obstacles in the path.
Jesus kept His eyes on the prize in order to accomplish the Father's will. He saw with eyes of faith the great cloud of witnesses that would be the result of Him laying down His very life as a sacrifice. What He went through only lasted a moment and did not compare to the exceeding and eternal weight of glory that salvation would produce for "whosoever will". The joy that Jesus kept His eyes on was you and I and hearing the Father say, "well done".
In the very same manner that Jesus focused on the joy set before Him we must focus on the joy set before us. Listen with your ears of faith. Can you hear the Father say, "well done, good and faithful servant."? Can you see the finish line? Can you smell the victory and hear the cloud of witnesses cheering? It's not time to fall down and give up, it's time to rejoice! Set your eyes on the prize and let His joy fill you. We win!
To celebrate the victory before you see it is extreme faith! We know from His Word that we have been made more than conquerors and we always triumph in Christ. It is time to rehearse the victory.
Everyday is a celebration that Jesus has defeated death, hell and the grave! We are not waiting to see if we win, we have already won!
With each obstacle that you face, stay focused on the joy. Do not allow yourself to look at anything else but the joy. Focus on the joy, run with patience, keep you eyes on the prize. Rejoice, and again I say, rejoice! And if you didn't hear me the first time, I said, rejoice! When you think that there is nothing you can do, you can rejoice!
This is the day that the Lord has made, we will be glad and rejoice in it!
Confession:
"I set my eyes on the joy that is set before me. I listen with my ears of faith to my Heavenly Father saying, "well done good and faithful servant". I see the finish line and hear the great cloud of witnesses roar with victorious celebration. I am a winner therefore I rejoice. I am running with patience and choose to focus on the joy!"
