When we choose to rejoice rather than complain we are choosing victory rather than defeat.
Joshua 6:20 (NKJV)
So the people shouted when the priests blew the trumpets. And it happened when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat. Then the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.
Our shout of joy sends the enemy into confusion. The devil cannot stand when a believer overflows with the joy of the Lord. Satan's schemes are confused and confounded when we respond to his attacks with rejoicing.
Joshua and the Children of Israel faced the insurmountable walls of the city of Jericho when the Lord instructed him to have the people march around the walls 7 times in 7 days and the last time around they would shout and play the trumpet. This strategy went against every military strategy that they knew. How strange, right?
The power of rejoicing is underestimated. No matter what obstacles we are facing when we choose to rejoice we are choosing the way up, over and out. Rejoicing lifts you spirit, soul and body over the challenges of the enemy. Rejoicing believers win every time!
When Joshua faced Jericho he did not have to deal with the doubt, fear and unbelief of the previous generation. He was surrounded by a host of people strong in faith and obedient to God. They had the same opportunities to complain and grumble in their tents but they chose to obey the word of the Lord by faith and rejoice. They chose to shout when they were instructed to regardless of what it looked like or felt like.
Walls fall when we rejoice with a shout of faith. If you are facing a wall (or two), begin to rejoice in the Lord. Begin to shout the shout of faith and declare that the Lord has given you the city! His promise for you today is, YES and AMEN! He has designed us to win. He has designed us to rejoice in Him in the face of adversity. Hold up that shield of faith and begin to REJOICE! Shout unto God with a voice of triumph!
Confession:
"I refuse to lose. I choose victory by choosing to rejoice. The Lord has given me the victory over death, hell and the grave. He has given me the victory over all the power of the enemy. Nothing by any means shall harm me! I am more than a conquerer through Christ Jesus. I lift up the shield of faith and shout unto God with a voice of triumph! Glory to God! We win!"
